Another really busy day, so I'm in sort of a rush, but wanted to post before I got into it.
I read an article this morning that South Park will now be offered in HD, at least for one episode being released as a download for viewing on Nintendo's XBOX. I'm not exactly sure what the point is. It's a cartoon. In fact, a very rudimentary cartoon, artistically speaking. It's not like the hair on Cartman's head will be any clearer.
The song for today is "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)" by The Proclaimers off their 1988 album Sunshine on Leith. The Scottish twins seem unlikely popstars, but they had a lot of success here in the U.S. in the early 90s when this song was used in the Johnny Depp film "Benny & Joon." I remember it from when it was released in the late 80s as a record that came through the radio station but got hardly any airplay. While they only ever had a single hit here, they were apparently popular in their homeland and have released several albums. At the very least, they made enough of a mark here to be spoofed on Family Guy:

That song is played at every wedding I go to! The original version, not the parody, natch.
KROQ played the shit out of that song.
Really Mishy, you hear that at wedding receptions?
I do think it is a likable ditty
LA: At all of them. Same with "Home For A Rest" by Spirit of the West. Nothing like a good fast paced song about being drunk all the time to start off one's life-long union.
