My second hockey team had a 0-4 record yesterday at the beginning of our game against a 4-0 team. When the puck dropped, we had only 5 skaters. As you may or may not know, that's exactly enough to play, and exactly enough to not have any subs or play well. We played well in the first period, starting up a goal that they evened out shortly thereafter. We then led 2-1, but they eventually led 4-2 with 6 minutes left. Somehow, we scored three goals in the next 4 minutes, winning the game 5-4. One of our weaker players had a hat trick. We will now refer to it as the Miracle on Van Nuys.

I'm off to see the Kings play the Ducks tonight. As part of our league dues at Toyota Sports Center (practice facility of the Kings) we get one ticket per season. ONE ticket. Some of the guys on our team couldn't make it so I was able to get two. The tickets are awful, really far up where you have to lean in to watch the game, but hey - they're free. Kings Fan and I will enjoy the game and be very, very surprised if the Kings can pull out a win.

Diane - Sadly, they look about the same as last year, except Jack Johnson is injured for three months.
