We had an 11pm game last night (we won - sweet!) do I didn't get to sleep until around 2. Thanks to the fact that the blinds in my bedroom don't keep the room dark enough during daylight hours, I first woke up at 6. Then 8 and so on. Eventually, I got up around 10:30, feeling as if I had slept 12 hours. I have some work to make up this weekend so I knocked a couple of hours out of the way early in the day. Then my friend, James, came over and we headed out to see Iron Man.

I don't intend to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen the movie, but you might not want to read further if you haven't seen the movie yet (and want to). First off, it was an awesome movie. I mean, I really liked and enjoyed it. I enjoy action movies, but I don't like to watch ones where I'm constantly rolling my eyes because it's just so improbable and ridiculous. While Iron Man is certainly improbable, the director did a great job of walking that fine line requiring only slight suspension of belief to buy into the whole idea. Robert Downey Jr was excellently cast in this role. I worked on Ally McBeal when RDJ was on it. Though I had always liked him and had grown up watching him as an adolescent actor, I never realized what a talented actor he was until we worked on the same project. I had forgotten what an amazing actor he is, and how fun he can be to watch. I've seen some great dramas this year and some decent comedies, but this is the only action feature I can fully recommend.
